Описание:	La Casa Grande is the heart of Il Poggiolo. an 800 year old Tuscan farm-house nestled in the Medieval village of Codiponte in the Lunigiana. Il Poggiolo... meaning balcony in Italian... is the name the locals gave to the house & once-upon-a-time vineyard because. it stuck out like a balcony from the part of the village built up around the Castle of Codiponte above. In fact. part of the base of the old castle perimeter walls now make up the rampart walls forming the coutryard of Il Poggiolo. At some point in the house s history. the facade & interiors were altered to be the residence for Il Poggiolo. Probably. the original living quarters of L Appartamento Azzurro. above on the Second Floor. had become too small. However. in the late 1600s or early 1700s. a casa padronale was built next door to Il Poggiolo in the Medici-style and La Casa Grande remained the hay barn & rooms for storage & making wine.
